Weird stuff. Herping sucked (garter, toads, Rana), but these springs (always 47 degrees they say) were awesome. And they were painfully/refreshingly cold indeed!
Excuse the country accent my midwestern friend seems to have acquired here

So that's where you disappeared off to- kidnapped by a herper. I didn't see you at the convention again after Friday night.
Very cool vids. Now I'm thinking about ways to get that bubbling sand effect in a tank. Might be tough to strike a balance between having the plumbing blow all the sand away and unbury itself, or having the un-pumped areas of the sand bed deep enough to risk anaerobic pockets..

When we saw this we discussed how different sand densities were probably involved, with the heaviest remaining in that area.
I had to fly home early because of family issues, I drove off early Saturday and didn't even get to discuss Herichthys with Juan Miguel, which was one of the main things I planned to do.
